Help Build the Kampingganon Elementary School Reading Center

Kampingganon Elementary School has 286 students, 10 classrooms and 11 teachers including the principal. This is also the site of Tsinelas Association's proposed reading center.

You can help build the reading center in the small barangay of Kampingganon in Bantayan Island by donating children's books to Tsinelas. You can leave the books at Sun.Star Daily P. del Rosario Street, Cebu City (please label package with TSINELAS or Insoy Ninal) or contact 09228243800.

If you're from Manila, please contact Yowee @ 0916-7970140 or leave her a private message at yohwee@gmail.com

This is a continuing project of Tsinelas Association, a non-profit organization that provides educational assistance to poor students in mountain and coastal barangays in Cebu. The first reading center was built in the mountain barangay of Colonia (Colonia Elementary School), Tuburan north of Cebu.

Tsinelas put up reading centers in these public schools because they do not have libraries. Students even lack textbooks. In some cases, teachers even have to place the books inside the cabinet (and lock it) for fear of being damaged due to overuse.

With your help, Tsinelas hopes to put up as many reading centers in public schools as possible. They also provide reading appreciation seminars.

Please help us spread the word.

For more information, please visit their website (still under construction).
